To acquaint students with the principles of management and control of power system operation focused in particular on PS Czech Republic and neighboring TSO. The main objective is to present the principle of frequency and voltage stability of PS, TSO dispatching control, possibilities of regulation on the production and consumption side, the Grid Code of the transmission system in the Czech Republic, ENTSO-E requirements , cooperation conditions of the interconnected electricity systems, WAMS system and the procedures for dealing with emergencies in the PS including risk of blackout. By completing the course, students will acquire knowledge of new trends in the management of electricity systems. Teaching is supplemented by lectures by experts from practice and excursions at CEPS dispatching.
