Would you like to understand the function of cell phone, know why in the microwave owen foods are heated on what principle operates synchronous generator, direct or asynchronous motor, transformer, electrostatic filter, lectrostatic precipitators or xerox?  What is common to all these facilities? The function of all of these and many other devices is based on the usage of electromagnetic phenomena. If we want to understand them, we need not only to know but also to understand the basic principles of electromagnetic fields, their mathematical expression and basic methods for their analysis. And that's why this course is devoted to the macroscopic electromagnetic field theory.
