The aim of the course is to systematize students' knowledge of the history of science in the Renaissance and modern times. Students will gain an overview of the development of individual scientific disciplines that were constituted or developed during the Renaissance and modern times. Students will be introduced to important personalities and their philosophical and scientific concepts. Students will be introduced to the main conditions for the emergence of modern science. Students will also be introduced to the contemporary intellectual, social and cultural context, as well as to the overall evaluation of the influence of the Renaissance and the modern age on the further development of scientific disciplines. |
