The aim of the course is to provide the student with solid knowledge of the lexical system of modern English. Special attention is paid to the role of vocabulary on particular language levels and various aspects of semantics. The student will learn about differences between British and American vocabulary and about main characteristic features of other varieties of English in the field of word register. |
