This course is intended for postgraduates/Masters students. Human skeletal remains are important source of information about the life and the behaviour of the past populations besides archaeological discoveries alone. Bioarchaelogy is cross-disciplinary scietific branch employing many paleobiological disciplines for the reconstruction of human life in the past. The aim of the course is to introduce the methods and approaches applied in bioarchaelogical research. Students will acquire knowledge of skeleton features which are important for determination of subsistence and nourishment patterns, family linkages and other purposes. "American" conception of the discipline is prefered as the European one integrates even those approaches which are not working with the human remains. Nevertheless European conception is discussed as well.
