The course introduces students to the issues of European integration and the status, duties and functions of the Free State of Bavaria in this process and its specifics in the context of the Germany.

Bavaria and the enlargement process of the European Union (countries of Central and Eastern Europe)
Bavaria as an example of successful coordination
Presentation of case analyzes strategies of European Union enlargement
Selected problems associated with the expansion of the European Union and their solutions in Bavaria ("Spätaussiedler", migration, cross-border cooperation, the acquisition of workforce, labor market, social policy etc.)
Knowledge - students are expected to possess the following knowledge before the course commences to finish it successfully:
Knowledge of the German language at least at the level C1 (CEFR).

- Apply theoretical knowledge in the field of European integration on specific topical issues
- Identify the specific position of Bavaria in the enlargement of the European Union
- Analyze ways to solve selected problems associated with the expansion of the European Union in the context of the policy of Bavaria
