Course objectives:
|
Course is thought in Russian only. The course is available for international students. The issue of ethnic, religious, linguistic and cultural structure of central Europe will be discussed in Russian language. We will focuse especially on historical development of cultural and ethnical attributes of the region, the local nations formation and interethnical relationships from the ethnological point of view. Cultural area of the central Europe will be introduced and interpreted in the setting of neighborough regions, the east Europe in particular. We will focuse minutely on ethnographic, ethnic, linguistic and cultural situation in the Czech countries. Our approach will be cross-disciplional as the the ethnology or sociocultural anthropology will be accompanied by the themes from intercultural communication, Slavonic studies, history and politology.

Central Europe as ethnopolitical concept: historical, cultural, teritorial and ethnopolitical specification. Euroasia in cultural, social and political setting of eastern Europe The right of nations to self-determination and its realization after the world war I. Euroatlantic and bolshevic visions. Emigration and reemigration in eastern Europe and Czech countries in 19. and 20. century. Russian emigration and Czechoslovak republic in inter-war period (representatives, institutions and activities) History and ethnocultural facts of current Czech republic: administrative, ethnic, religious and language composition. Foreigners living in Czech rep. Ethnocultural development of Lusatia and Lusatian Serbs Carpatho-rusyns in the intercultural settings Current efforts to establish new ethnic identities in central Europe Czech republic in the context of EU
