Course objectives:
|
The course is thought only in english. The main task of the lecture is to provide the students an overview of the history of the Far East in the Modern history. The attention will be focused on the history of China, Japan, Korea and selected countries of South-east Asia in the 19th and 20th century with special regard to the context of political, economic, social and cultural history of the region. The lectures also aim to present the history of the Far East in the context of the history of the world.

Requirements on student

Knowledge of literature and given subject matter. Students will prepare a seminar paper on a chosen topic and prepare a paper for oral presentation on seminars.
