Course objectives:
|
The course is designed for pre-intermediate students of post-Bachelor (Master) program. It builds on the course Advanced Ivrit 2 and extends grammar and vocabulary knowledge. It also develops communication skills achieved in previous levels. The interpretation of the verb system will advance to the advanced level by reviewing the past, present and future tenses of the strong verbs of passive conjugation nif'al. Students will also learn how to express unrealistic conditional sentences (if I were so) and start using pronoun suffixes with nouns. Getting to know the passive forms of verbs will allow students to begin reading the Israeli press. In order to strengthen the self-expression of their own ideas and opinions, students will be asked to prepare short presentations of current events in Israel based on the daily press in their area of interest (politics, art, geography, etc.). Students will also try e-mail correspondence in Hebrew using previously-learned Hebrew keyboard typing skills.
