Course objectives:
|
This course aims to give the student a solid foundation in the principles and techniques of solid state physics. Specific topics cover atomic structure (crystal structure, bonding in solid materials, vibrations and thermal properties, classical calculations) as well as electronic structure (role of free electrons, band structure, semiconductors, quantum calculations).
