The topic of this diploma thesis is sports diplomacy of North Korea. This case study examines and analyzes the visible actions and manifestations of a communist regime and argues that DPRK contra its isolation is trying to break its state of self-posed isolation and establish contacts through the sports and its sportsmen with various countries, even with the "hostile" states like United States of America and Japan. The regime of DPRK is using its sportsmen and friendly matches and some sports celebrities which are willing to get involved with the nondemocratic regime to establish friendly relations and improve its image to the international community.
