The author of this bachelor teasis is trying to find an answer to a question whether
the fear from refugees had an impact on the result of the elections in 2017 to the
Parliament in the Czech Republic. First, there is a presumption that this fear will be
reflected in election results, because in the researches running before, the election
showed that many people are concerned about their safetyness. Some political parties
had that issue in their election program. So the question was, if the people, so worried,
will prefer the party with highest accent on safetyness. I read programs of all parties
who get into Parliament to understand their view on this issue.
Many experts share the view, that we are living in post-truth era, where lying is no
longer prohibited in public space. Election campaignes are made by professionals to
evoke emotions and by using unfair practices help the one, who pays, win the
election. Big part of this thesis focuses on emotions and how they influences our
behaviour, especially when we are about to make some decision. Why the truth lost
its space in our environment? Was it even here before? What part the social media
plays in spreading lies around and why people do not care. Is voting even rational?
At the end I am admitting that my original question was wrong, because the way how
parties deal with migrant crisis issue in their oficial program and in social media,
masmédia, was quiet different
