V teoretické části je rozebírána problematika bolesti v podobě souhrnných informací (bolest a kvalita života, bolest a výživa, bolest a vyprazdňování, bolest a pohyb, role sestry v péči o pacienta).

The Bachelor thesis focuses on oncology patients' pain, on analgetic therapy and the influence of pain on patient's quality of life. In the theoretical part, the issue of pain is examined in the form of summary information (pain and quality of life, pain and nutrition, pain and bowel emptying, pain and motion, nurse's role in the care for patients). The practical part deals with survey and observations, using talks with oncology patients and their families. The response on pain treatment and quality of life is studied. The output should be in the form of an information bulletin, usable as a home-helper for oncology patients with pain.
