The bachelor thesis focuses on the comparison of several types of fixations of unilateral transforaminal fracture of the sacral bone. The sacral bone fracture causes instability of the pelvic ring. The main aim of the work is a development of a computational model for both healthy and fractured bones of human pelvis based on CT scans of orthopaedic models made of polyurethane foam. Secondly, it is targeted on comparison of several fixation techniques applied to one type of pelvic fracture. Specifically, 9 sacral bone fixation techniques by means of 4 various types of fixators are investigated
The comparison of all fixation techniques is based on the calculated stiffness ratio, which is determined from the displacement of the sacral base and the applied external load. The results of numerical simulations are compared with data from previously performed experiments. Furthermore, a comparison of individual fixation techniques based on the behavior of the fracture line is provided. Fracture line is described by relative displacements of the L-R points located along the pelvic fracture. In addition, the displacement distribution on the individual computational models was visually compared and evaluated. The results of numerical simulations were compared with data from previously performed experiments.
human pelvis, sacral bone, osteosynthesis, transiliac internal fixator, iliosacral screw, transiliac plate, sacral bar
