The purpose of this thesis was to introduce the ways of an information manipulation via Russian national medium RT in the case of the Russia state funded doping in sport towards western nations. The doping was a means to achieve better if not the best possible results of Russian representatives and regain a Russia's advantageous position on the international sport scene i.e., Russia hosted Olympic games at Sochi. The state lead by Vladimir Putin head set its' goal to achieve a victory and reach a medal placings to cope for a not so satisfying result achieved at the Vancouver's Winter Olympic Games. Alas was goal was achieved almost flawlessly. However, the first Winter Olympic Games in the subtropical zones were followed with a lot of controversy (i.e., holding Olympic Games in a state that does not hold democratic principles of humans' rights where a voice of a political opposition is being silenced). As the time had been progressing the reputation of these Olympics were also scarred by the revealment of the doping cases of Russian sportsmen and sportswomen. Based on the analysis provided by the Canadian lawyer Richard McLaren Russia is still facing the sanctions regarding their sport representation since Summer Olympic Games 2016. The last Winter Olympic Games did not have the official Russian team participating but had the flagless neutral delegation of sportsmen and sportswomen of Russia. An absolute participation ban was held against the Russian politicians. Russia officially denies all claims and states that the whole case was a means of a political nature held by the western states.
This thesis focuses on the RT's view regarding the doping case and the information distribution of the whole case being a western slander with a political motivation.
