Ukrajina však prokázala velkou houževnatost, pokud jde o cíl dosáhnout v budoucnu plného členství své země v EU, a navzdory bezprecedentní invazi ruských sil dosáhla v porovnání s předchozím rokem v přístupových jednáních znatelného pokroku.
Anotace v angličtině
This bachelor's thesis focuses on the topic of the potential candidateship of Ukraine to the European Union. Ukraine was unprecedently attacked by the Russian Federation in the final days of February 2022. In close succession to this attack, Ukraine signed the official accession application to the European Union and within 3 months, Ukraine was granted a candidate status. In succession to the granting of candidate status, Ukraine was also invited to open accession negotiations with the European Union.
My thesis sets a target to analyze and describe the development of political and institutional reforms in Ukraine since the start of the EU accession process with the great influence of the still ongoing war. The war in Ukraine is a great threat to the whole accession process because it slows down or even paralyzes the negotiations between the Union and Ukraine.
How the development has gone in recent years is based on the official report of the European Commission from 2023, which contains the most recent information about the whole accession negotiation process.
A lot of Ukraine's efforts to adopt and to be in line with the European acquis were severely hindered by the ongoing attacks and missile strikes from the Russian Federation and a lot of the chapters on the acquis had the ongoing war as the reason why no progress was made in the recent year.
But Ukraine has shown great resilience in the goal of achieving future full membership of their country in the EU and despite the unprecedented invasion of Russian forces, Ukraine made some notable progress in the accession negotiations in comparison to the previous year.
