Course objectives:
|
The goal is to retool, to emancipate the context of historical sciences, characterize, rehearse and learn to use oral history, which in the modern world historiography is today an essential and progressive methods of teaching and research applications, while the Czech historiography only slowly after 1989 begins to break through a little bit conservative discourse. The course aims not only to oral history theory and methods of historiography, but especially to build complex skills correctly and effectively use in history research and applied: teaching history, popularization of history. The method will be discussed as a means of interdisciplinarity of modern social sciences, especially highlighting the links to education, anthropology, political science, ethnography, folklore, gerontology and geriatrics, social psychology. The final certificate will certify the skill of professional application of the method of oral history in research and teaching.

Requirements on student

Project - project preparation and implementation of applied oral history:
1st in the field of teaching - teaching history and civics in elementary or secondary school or
2nd the popularization of history and journalism - or audiovisual audiopořadu preparation program or magazine article, or
3rd preparation and implementation of the project with senior citizens in community care, or
4th Applied oral history project in the field of modern folklore collection in relation to recent history (in collaboration with the Ethnographic Museum and Archives)

1st News in an oral history of the world and at home. Recent literature. Introduction to Applied oral history, the world situation in our country. Entering the study of literature. Entering the project task.
2nd Applied Olympics in teaching. Possibilities and limitations.
3rd A practical example of educational application of OH - in the classroom teaching.
4th Applied Olympics in the popularization of the history and current affairs. Pitfalls and how to avoid them.
5th Excursions to Prague, Faculty of Humanities field of oral history.
6th Applied Olympics in socilální care and work with the elderly. The experience of colleagues from South Africa.
7th Applied Olympics in collection of modern folklore associated with recent events, the practical use of the data. Modern interactive museum of the region.
8th Own field research and work.
9th Consultation seminar by project tasks.
10th Student colloquium with presentations of students' project work, part 1
11th Student colloquium with presentations of students' project work, part 2
12th Individual evaluation and discussion with the instructor for credit.

Learning outcomes
|
Knowledge - knowledge resulting from the course: |
Student will acquire orientation in the current modern methods of historical science, acquire skills to prepare and conduct interviews with expert witnesses, witness extraction can be treated from a legal perspective, acquire technical skills and overhead associated with the process of extraction of the witness, transkribuje correctly interprets the data obtained and stored according to their own and choosing to focus on one application of the guidelines offered by oral history: the popularization of history didactics, therapy and geriatrics, ethnography. Applied oral history will be the primary concern of the second part of the course. |
