Informace o kvalifikační práci Od diskurzů k praktikám: současné teoretické diskuse v rámci kritických bezpečnostních studií a mezinárodní politické sociologie
Master's thesis deals with the problem of the concept of security. It wants to show how authors write about security and try to deal with it in Europe. Recently, a number of theories or research programs - often called 'schools' - have emerged within European security studies. The debate within and among and across these 'schools' has regularly been characterized as particularly fruitful and surprising. Although security studies are habitually seen as a field within International Relations (IR), these 'schools' have not been sectorial manifestations of the main theories as defined by the over-arching landscape or 'grand debates' of the discipline at large. Nor have they generally been copied from the US.
At the beginning the Master's thesis talk about how security evolved from past decades and then the diploma discusses newborn approaches in critical security studies which tries to use spatial mapping through schools, like Copenhagen school, Welsh school and Paris school. As this mapping is quite limited in describing critical security studies in this matter, we put also International political sociology and C.A.S.E collective to discuss.
