Course objectives:
|
Students will be introduced to the basic legal foundations of IPR protection and international relations. Specifically, they will be introduced to copyright law, protection and use of works, author's property and personality rights, protection of computer databases and programs. Students will also be introduced to the field of industrial rights and their subdivision, protection of inventions, utility models, know-how, industrial designs, protection of origin and trade names, licensing. Furthermore, students will be introduced to the Internet, how to register domains, intellectual property protection and evidence in the Internet environment, media and their operation in the Internet environment. Students will be presented with the basic aspects of legal and technological protection of information systems, information systems security management. They will be introduced to electronic communication and management of business relations in the field of information technology, electronic signature, protection of personal data, right to information. They will be introduced to the valuation of intangible assets.

Content of lectures:
Students will be introduced to the basic aspects of intellectual property protection in the Czech Republic and the issue of information systems law for the needs of engineering practice.
1. Introduction; intellectual property in the Czech Republic; copyright law - fundamentals principles; international relations, types of authors crafts
2. Law of author and co-authors; fundamentals legal relations; copyright transfer; protection of crafts authors
3. Protection of computers programs and databases according to copyright law
4. Industry law - structure and protection; patents law
5. Inventions; utility models; topographies of semiconductor products protection; know-how; rationalisation proposal
6. Trademarks, licences, appellation of origin, protection of trade name
7. Protection of information systems; design of information systems and legal protection of authors, employees crafts
8. Internet and intellectual properties; registration of domains; protection of information
9. Communication systems on the internet, conditions of operating; computers and internet crime
10. Legal protection of electronic commerce and business; business relations on the internet
11. Electronics documents and electronics signatures
12. Personally dates protection; title to information
13. Pricing of intangible assets
