Course objectives:
|
The course goal is to introduce the problems of communication and information systems used in industrial organizations. Students will be made familiar with the role of communication in the organization, will gain an overview of the types of systems used in practice and the methods used within these systems. Furthermore, the goal is to introduce the integrated management system of the organization and its individual components (QMS, EMS, ISMS, ITSM). It will be explained the basic concepts and introduced procedures and methods.

Requirements on student
|
Pre-exam credit condition: Given topics processing and presentation.
The exam is combined, written and oral part. It is necessary to answer at least 2/3 questions correct. The grade is final evaluation of written and oral part.

1. Information and its importance for enterprise management.
2. Information types. Information as enterprise assets and their value estimation.
3. Function of communications in organization. Model of basic communication process. Communication flows in organization. Communication barriers. Electronic media in communications.
4. Information system architecture. Management information system (MIS). Executive information system (EIS). Data warehouses. Client/server architecture.
5. Enterprise information system. Enterprise resource planning (ERP). Methods applied in terms of enterprise information system.
6. Workflow - automated process control. Workflow system types. Workflow reference model.
7. Process-oriented management systems, integrated management system, documentation management, risk management
8. Quality management systems
9. Environmental management systems
10. Information security management systems
11. IT service management systems
12. Review of management systems, internal audits
13. Implementation and certification of management systems.
