Course objectives:
|
Familiarize students with solution of electrical stations and lines. Introduce the students into the problematic of operation control and automatic control systems in electrical stations. Familiarize students with the problematic of maintenance and reliability increasing.

Requirements on student
|
Credit: Mastering of practical example on simulator manipulations. Active participation on example calculations.
Examination: Getting under control problems presented on lectures in range defined by lecturer (or recommended for self study). Ability to apply knowledge on example or design solution.

Content
|
Today and future trends of electric stations and line construction home and abroad, function of electric stations in operate and fault conditions of electric network. Design and calculation necessary for construction of transformer stations and switching stations parts of all uses voltage levels. Construction of transformer stations, outer, covered, argumentation of implementation for each voltage level and different locations. Encapsulated switching stations, construction, importance, and future trends. Transformers, choose of construction type, power and connection according to placement in electric network. Voltage regulation. Common equipment of electric station. Control systems, their purpose, components, stations with and without service. Operation of electric stations. Electric overhead lines and cables, construction and sequence of design.

Prerequisites

Knowledge - students are expected to possess the following knowledge before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
Knowledge of the problems on graduate level of Electrical Power Engineering 1 and Electric Power Engineering 2 subjects, which are taught at the Department of Electrical Power Engineering and Ecology of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. |

Students apply theoretical and practical knowledge to:
- design and calculation necessary for construction of parts of transformer stations and switching stations all used voltage levels and different types like are for example encapsulated switching stations, outer switching stations
- operate manipulations and regulations
- design electric overhead lines and cables including all necessary calculations with respect to standards
