Key learning outcomes
|
Graduates will be able to understand the basic terminology and methodology of political science. They will develop a basic understanding of contemporary academic discourse and the main paradigms of political science. Graduates will be able to analyze and interpret the condition and development of individual components of political systems as well as of a particular political system as a whole, both within the state and in the international system. They will have basic knowledge of sub-disciplines of political science such as political philosophy, political theory, comparative politics, political sociology, international relations, political geography etc. They will be able to use the theoretical approaches and methods common in political science. They will be able to work with (foreign) academic literature, analyse it properly and prepare standard academic papers based on their work. They will be able to write papers which are methodologically a theoretically consistent and in line with the contemporary approaches. They will be able to present and interpret the results of their research and put them into wider social context. They will be able to apply their knowledge in analogous cases and conduct an academic discussion concerning their chosen topics. Their will reach B1 level in English and in at least one other foreign language. They will be able to read academic papers, prepare a presentation and conduct an academic discussion in a foreign language. The graduates will acquire skills and knowledge enabling them to intensify their interest in the field during their MA studies, and, at the same time, they will be well prepared for exercise of a suitable profession.

Profile of the programme
|
Programme is designed as an academic programme. It consists of blocks of theoretically oriented courses from the areas of comparative political science, political theory, international relations, philosophy, sociology, and development studies. The programme also includes foreign languages as well as courses focusing on the practical use of acquired theoretical knowledge and skills (including optional practice courses).

Occupational profiles of graduates with examples
|
Graduates will be prepared for further study in Political Science, International Relations or similar MA programmes. They will be prepared to assume positions of responsibility in national as well as international institutions, public administration, media, non-governmental organizations, in institutions providing political advisory services, in organizational structures of political parties as well as in the diplomatic service. Graduates will be able to find employment in regional and international organizations including the EU.
