Course content
Non-inertial frames of reference, inertial forces. Mechanics of a system of mass points, 1st and 2nd impulse theorem, moment of momentum. Center of gravity, moment of inertia. Kinematics and dynamics of a rigid body, flywheels and their use. Rolling on an inclined plane.

Lecture with visual aids

Knowledge
Knowledge of basic relationships in classical mechanics of mass points. Knowledge of physical units and mathematical apparatus.
learning outcomes
The students will have active knowledge of mechanics of mass points systems and solid bodies. They are able to apply the laws on processes in the nature and technology.
Skills
The student understands the structure of classical mechanics based on the degree of generality of the model (mass point - rigid body - continuum) and can explain it even to a layman. Understands the analogy between rotational and translational motion and reflects his level of understanding on more complex and counterintuitive topics related to the rotation of a rigid body.
