Course objectives:
|
The class continues with the treatment of basic sociological concepts. It offers a basic overview of subfields within sociology, such as sociology of the family, sociology of political institutions, sociology of school and education, sociology of the mass media, sociology of the language and communication, sociology of religion, economic sociology, urban sociology and the like. The class also covers social movements, revolutions and social change. Finally, the class deals with basic social and power structures of society such as class, gender, race and ethnicity
