Course objectives:
|
The course is designed for PhD studies at the Faculty of Arts. Deeper understanding of project preparation in contemporary archaeology is the aim of the class. Students will master the principles of project preparation of so called endangered as well as safe sites regarding their character, state of preservation and informational potential and with general principles of preparation of domestic and foreign grant projects. Individual work of the students on elaboration of model projects and their defense are emphasized. Special emphasis will be put on the questions of archaeological knowledge and its relation to the contemporary archaeological and monument preservation.

Knowledge - students are expected to possess the following knowledge before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
Students have a grasp of archaeological theory and methodology (MA level). Students are familiar with approaches and literature relevant to their PhD theses.

Skills - students are expected to possess the following skills before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
Students understand scientific text in Czech and English and are able to interpret and critically assess its content.
Students know how to utilize electronic information resources.
Students are capable of working systematically and independently.

Studenti se orientují v příslušné legislativě s důrazem na ochranu a péči o archeologické a kulturní dědictví. |
Skills - skills resulting from the course: |
Studenti jsou schopni přípravy projektů výzkumu tzv. ohrožených i neohrožených lokalit s ohledem na jejich charakter, stav dochování a výpovědní potenciál a s obecnými zásadami přípravy domácích i zahraničních grantových projektů. |
