This thesis tackles the material parameters identification of the foam used in motorcyclist protective equipment. The first step consists of performed experimental measurements ofcompression and impact tests. The suitable material model was chosen afterwards, it was a combination of the hyperelastic Moony-Rivlin model and the viscoelastic model of Prony series. In addition, finite-element simulations of experimental measurements were conducted with this material model in parametric expression. The models of impact tests were
optimized by optiSLang 3.0 and evaluated on the basis of the target function. This function represents the numeric formulation of differences between the material model and real material. The main intention was to minimalize its value. The results were material parametres suitable for description of the equipment foam at motocyclists protection. Based on the final data it is possible to simulate the behaviour of the foam components in rapid
action corresponding with the performed impact tests.
