Tato bakalářská práce se zaobírá skupinou vnitrozemských států se zaměřením na Bolívii. Cílem této práce je analýza Bolívie na mezinárodní scéně s ohledem na její zeměpisnou polohu. Práce je jedno případovou studií, a je rozdělena na dvě části. První z nich se věnuje obecně vnitrozemským státům. Popisuje, jak vnitrozemské státy vznikají, definuje základní charakteristiky (geografické, politické, historické), a analyzuje přínos Úmluvy Organizace spojených národů pro vnitrozemské státy. Práce také představuje politickou geografii jako vědu. Druhá část se věnuje jednomu ze dvou jihoamerických vnitrozemských států - Bolívii. Představuje historii i současnou situaci této země. Bolívie se v minulosti musela vyrovnat s dvěma velkými územními ztrátami. V ledkové válce, která probíhala mezi lety 1879-1884, se utkala s Chile. Porážka ve válce znamenala ztrátu mořského pobřeží pro Bolívii. Taktéž ve 30. letech 20. století přišla na úkor Paraguaye o území Gran Chaco. Práce taktéž zmiňuje hlavního muže současného Bolívie, Evo Moralese. Závěrečná část práce se soustředí na způsoby, jak si Bolívie dokázala poradit s absencí mořského pobřeží.

The main theme of this bachelor thesis is a phenomenon of so-called land-locked states with focus on Bolivia. The aim of this work is an analysis of Bolivia as an example of a land-locked state. This thesis is a single case study which is divided into two chapters. The first chapter is focused on land-locked states in general. It describes how land-locked states have been created, defines basic characteristics (geographical, political, historical) connected with land-locked states and analyses pros of United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea for land-locked states. It also mentions basic definitions of political geography and when this scientific discipline was established.
The second chapter is based on Bolivia. It introduces Bolivia as a land-locked state, describes its history and its present situation. In the past, Bolivia has suffered two significant territorial losses. In the War of The Pacific, which took place in 1879-1884, Bolivia fought against Chile. The war ended with a tough result for Bolivia Bolivia lost its sea coast. The second territorial loss, which is mentioned in this bachelor thesis is the area of Gran Chaco, which belongs to Paraguay nowadays. This thesis also discusses the main character of current Bolivia, President Evo Morales. The consequent part of the second chapter describes how Bolivia has dealed with the fact, that the country does not possess the sea coast anymore.
