Course objectives:
|
The subject presents the development of British, American and Australian cinema from the 1950s to the present day, overviewing the films, the actors, the industry and a range of related issues. The students be encouraged to analyze extracts from selected films and to discuss the wider aspects of Anglo-American film industry.

aktivně používat filmové databáze i databáze odborných časopisů |
aktivně používat literárněvědné pojmosloví a základní pojmy vztahující se k filmové tvorbě |
na základní úrovni uvést do souvislosti filmovou tvorbu a kulturní a společensko-politické dění |
na základní úrovni vysvětlit své názorové stanovisko týkající se daného filmového díla |
samostatně se zapojit do diskuse na dané téma |

definovat přínos Orsona Wellese pro vývoj filmového stylu a narace a doloží jej na konkrétních scénách/filmech |
charakterizovat tvorbu hlavních představitelů nového Hollywoodu sedmdesátých let 20. století (např. styl, žánry a inspirace) |
charakterizovat vývoj britského dokumentárního filmu od počátků kinematografie po druhou světovou válku |
popsat americký nezávislý film osmdesátých a devadesátých let, zejména společenský a kulturní kontext, hlavní představitele a jejich tvorbu |
provést základní charakteristiku britského filmu a jmenuje jeho základní díla a tvůrce |
Students are able to:
- critically approach film versions/adaptations and present their findings both in oral and written forms,
- present selected films and analyze their content in terms of their historical context,
- relate particular fims to social and cultural context.
