Course objectives:

To teach students how to recognize and analyse increasingly artificial surroundings of a man (signs, all kinds of artefacts).

Credit - seminar paper defense. Examination - oral exam.

Content
|
The following topics will be focused: History of the discipline including the generally accepted Czech historical background related to L. Tondl`s and I. Osolsobě`s work, Prague Linguistic Circle and Prague school. Importance of semiotics in theory and practise of communication.
