Course objectives:

This course is intended for postgraduates/Masters students.The course attempts to acquaint students with current information concerning bioarchaeology, archaeology, prehistoric anthropology, demography, methods of anthropological data processing, and other disciplines concerning reconstructions of life and nature of the past human populations. The seminars will consist of special lectures given by invited Czech and foreign scholars including those from the School of Humanities, University of West Bohemia, Pilsen. The seminars will also allow students to present their projects before the official defense of Master's thesis or presentations at conferences and congresses. Part of the seminars will be held in English.

Requirements on student
|
Attendance at the seminars, reading of the recommended literature, knowledge tested by a written exam. Particular seminar series (ANS1 to 4) will differ by their content based on the availability of external lecturers and subsequently by the recommended literature.

Content
|
Specialists as well as doctoral students from anthropological and closely related fields will be presenting results of their research. The other part of the seminar will be devoted to presentations of master thesis projects and results.
