Course objectives:

This course is intended for postgraduates/Masters students. The course focuses on the proper work of a curator of the skeletal remains in the anthropological collections and their presentation for public. Students will be acquainted with the topics that go beyond the practical level of museology, i.e. the history of museology and curatorship of the anthropological collections, relationships between paradigmatic shifts in anthropological theory and the work of curators etc. The course will be taught by the scholars from the Institute of Anthropology, Museum of Natural History in Vienna and the Institute of Anthropology, National Museum in Prague in the form of block seminars in these two institutions.
