Course objectives:
|
In the seminars, students will become acquainted with basic anthropological terms in Russian and learn to use them actively. Analytical reading will enable them to comprehend anthopological texts in the Russian original and gain information from them. Attention will be paid to learning sentence structures typical of the Russian scientific style.

Requirements on student
|
Oral presentation of selected narrow topic in Russian language during the semester.
Dictionary of terms.
Submission of seminar paper on selected topic (10-12 standard pages) containing:
- original Russian text (at least 5 standard pages)
- terminology, at least 100 word units (model format will be published in the beginning of the
semester)
- summary in Russian language (2 standard pages)
- resume in Czech language (2 standard pages)
- deadline for choosing a topic: end of the third week
- deadline for submission of paper: at least 10 days before exam
Students prepare assignments on a regular basis. The assignments are in the form of oral presentations or texts; this will be arranged by mutual agreement between lecturer and students.

Content
|
Selected texts will cover topics of social, cultural, biological and linguistic anthropology as well as ethnography and folklore (theory of human origin, Neanderthals, Neolithic revolution, peoples in the Caucasus, "russkaja usad´ba, rituals of Eastern Slavs"). students will also get acquainted with the language formulations used in professional work (dissertation, diploma thesis, conference paper).Consolidation and deepening of knowledge of the grammar system of Russian on the basis of the discussed texts.
