Course objectives:
|
The lecture aims at the formal and spatial characteristics of artefacts and their study in current archaeology by means of traditional as well as mathematical methods. It clarifies the basic concepts the archaeological method - the concept of transformations, analysis and synthesis of structures and their interpretation by means of modelling; in addition, the current archaeological paradigms are characterized (traditional, processual, pro-processual, post-processual+), as is their approach to the basic theoretical and methodological problems. In addition, the lecture provides an explanation of archaeological transformations, their classification and the systematics of archaeological sources (artefact, ecofact and natural; the specificities of their study).
