Course objectives:
|
A course is aimed at malignant diseases with a particular focus on utilization of ionizing radiation in complex treatment of these diseases.
|
Requirements on student
|
80% attendance at lectures, 100% attendance at practicals, a credit test, oral exam
|
Content
|
1. Hepatobiliary tumors and pancreatic tumors. 2. Lung tumors, sarcomas of soft tissue and bones, skin malignancy. 3. Gynecological malignancies, breast cancer. 4. Tumors of kidney and VCM. 5. Prostate tumors, tumors of testes and penis. 6. Brain tumors. 7. Hodgkin's lymphoma, NHL, myeloma, leukemia. 8. Palliative radiotherapy, acute conditions in oncology, radiotherapy of benign diseases. Seminars: Practical implementation of simulation, preparation of fixation devices and patient´s radiation according to individual systemic disease, and according to theoretical training in connection with the lectures.

A graduate is familiarized with principles of treatment using ionizing radiation aimed at malignant disease. He/she will be able on the base of his/her knowledge and skills to manipulate with therapeutical machines and instruments.
