Course objectives:
|
To equip the students with knowledge required for individual electromagnetic and constructional design of the electric machine. To give the information for understanding of the methodology of the design of electric machine and construction of its characteristics. To make the students aquainted with the possibilities of computer support for electromagnetic and constructional design.

Content
|
1. Induced voltage of electrical machines, power and torque equations 2. Determination of main dimensions, analogy and growth law for electrical machines 3. Windings of electrical machines - taxonomy of direct windings 4. Taxonomy of alternative windings 5. Security of windings against force effects, magnetic circuits of the rotary electrical machines 6. Design of magnetic circuits of rotary electrical machines; losses and efficiency of electrical machines 7. Calculation of the synchronous machine, design of the armature windings 8. Determination of the exciting voltage for machines with cylindrical rotors 9. Determination of the exciting voltage for machines with salient poles, loading characteristics of synchronous machines, design of the exciting windings 10. Construction of synchronous machines with salient poles 11. Construction of turbogenerators 12. Hydrogen and water cooling of turbogenerators 13. Reserve
