Course objectives:
|
The goal of subject is to familiarize students with providing of services tour guide, his/her personality and requirements of providing this activity. Students will be able to apply theoretical knowledge from methodology of providing tour guide. Goal of subject is to prepare students practically and theoretically for the work of tourist guide.

Requirements on student
|
Student achieves the credit (zápočet) for collecting the determinated amount of points. These points are obtained by fulfilling various activities during lessons which reflect the content of lectures and current situation in the discussed field. Activities may vary from oral to written form, including presentations of outcomes. Activities are pointed. To gain the credit, at least 70 % of maximal available points must be acquired. In the first tutorial of the course the students are familiarised with the pointing system for the semester. One excursion is obligated.
Regular deadline (for full-time students) for submitting the last activity is the last day of instruction in the semester. In case of not reaching the 70% level of available points for activities, the student will receive special activities, only one remake of a activity is possible, deadline for submitting the remade activity (for full-time students) is the end of the third week of examination period of the semester. Deadlines for combined students are specified on Courseware.
The final examination form is combined exam. Classification of student's knowledge:
- unsatisfactory: student has not shown sufficient knowledge of the course content
- good: student has shown only basic knowledge acquired during lectures and tutorials without extending them up with studying of related basic literature
- very good: student has shown knowledge enriched by studying of related basic literature
- excellent: student has shown excellent knowledge of the course content enriched by studying of basic and extended literature, she/he is dealing widely with the course content

Organization and management of tour guide services (history and current conditions for tour guide services, classification, professionally requirements of providing tour guide services) - Remuneration of tour guide - Travel refunds in domestic and foreign destination - Relationship of tour guide and tour operator
Personality of tour guide - Competences in tourism and work of tour guide
Psychological and social contexts of work of tour guide - Work of tour guide in multicultural environment - Typology of tourism participants - Style of work of tour guide
Methodological basics of tour guide services - Preparation of trips - Work with new information - Basics of topography and navigation - Topographic, psychologic, chronologic preparation
Emergency situation - Safety and health protection during work - first aid
Realization of tour guide services (work during trips) - Take-over of trips, manipulation with documentary agenda, money and aids - Animation activities in tourism, specifics of providing animation services
Obligation of tour guide after trips, work agenda of tour guide connected with evaluation and billing of trips
