Course objectives:
|
The aim of this course is:
- to familiarize students with phenomena affecting pupils´ insight into the structure of word problems and the process of their solution, to teach them how to work with word problem text and to choose various ways of visualizing the structure of word problems, to choose methods of word problem solution based on specific pupils´ needs,
- to help students understand connections between rational and real numbers,
- in terms of cooperative education, to teach students how to work with a mistake in mathematics.

Knowledge - students are expected to possess the following knowledge before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
Knowledge of fundamental principles of propositional calculus, fundamental concepts of set theory and theory of relations and operations, semiring of natural numbers and domain of integers (level of the course KMT/MSD2 output) is assumed. There are no prerequisite courses required. |

Learning outcomes
|
Knowledge - knowledge resulting from the course: |
Students
- solve real-world problems through the use of indeterminate equations and discuss other solution strategies appropriate for primary pupils,
- suggest various activities leading to creation of a concept of a rational number in primary school,
- construct the field of rational numbers,
- illustrate properties of real numbers, perform classification of decimal expansions of real numbers,
- demonstrate the ways to transform fractions to rational numbers and conversely,
- state the phenomena that can influence pupils´ process in solving word problems,
- suggest various arithmetic and algebraic strategies for simple word problem solutions in primary school,
- distinguish analytic and synthetic solution methods for compound word problems and apply them to concrete problems,
- suggest various ways of visualizing the structure of simple or compound word problems,
- demonstrate working with an error in mathematics lessons.
Above all, learning, communication, problem-solving, professional and some aspects of civic and social competencies are being developed. With respect to profession competencies of teachers, pedagogical competencies especially are being cultivated, including diagnostic and communication skills.

Student/ka
- navrhne různé aktivity vedoucí k vytvoření proceptu racionálního čísla na základní škole,
- zkonstruuje těleso racionálních čísel,
- objasní vlastnosti reálných čísel,
- provede klasifikaci desetinných rozvojů reálných čísel,
- demonstruje způsoby převádění zlomků na racionální čísla a naopak,
- uvede fenomény, které mohou u žáka ovlivnit proces řešení slovní úlohy,
- navrhne různé aritmetické a algebraické strategie řešení jednoduchých slovních úloh na 1. stupni ZŠ,
- rozliší analytickou a syntetickou metodu řešení složených slovních úloh a aplikuje je na konkrétní úlohy,
- navrhne různé způsoby vizualizace struktury jednoduchých nebo složených slovních úloh,
- demonstruje práci s chybou v hodinách matematiky.
Rozvíjeny jsou především kompetence k učení, komunikativní, k řešení problémů a částečně i kompetence občanské a sociální. Z profesních kompetencí učitele jsou rozvíjeny zejména kompetence pedagogické a didaktické, částečně diagnostické, komunikativní. |
