Course objectives:
|
The course focuses on definitions of health, main health priorities and aspects determining the health of the population, health education including principles of healthy nutrition. Students become acquainted with the way of recognizing health needs, existing factors that affect pregnancy and childbirth. Health, social factors and environmental factors are discussed. Special emphasis is put on women's health, including the prevention of negative phenomena in society and violence against women.

Lectures
Health and illness as a continuum, basic terms: health, illness, disease. Health perception, preventive care and programs. Quality of life, influencing factors. Hazard groups of the population. Health education - goals, principles, forms, methods, effectiveness control.
Motion activity and its effect on human health.
Nutrition, regulation of food intake, influence of nutrition on health.
Smoking-smoking issues, health problems of smokers, prevention options.
Dependencies, addictive behavior. Consequences, prevention.
Stress, distress, health effects. Mental Hygiene. The influence of stress on human health, the response to difficult life situations.
Sexual education, risky sexual behavior, prevention, education for healthy sexual behavior.
Bullying, violence. Accidents, accidents. Possibilities of prevention, protection.
Non-infectious disease (DM, CMP, IM, allergy). Causes, Incidence, Prevention.
Cancer illnesses. Prevention, reduction of occurrence.
Community projects to promote health - a healthy school, a healthy city, a healthy business, a healthy family. The importance of socio-economic and behavioral factors for a healthy lifestyle. Collaboration of Healthcare Ministries.
Syllabus of exercises:
Preparation and presentation of a health education lecture. Discussion over the topic.
