Presented thesis is focused on questions dealing with melting conductive and nonconductive materials in cold crucible. Section one is devoted to basic principles of induction melting, conventional induction melting furnaces and advantages of these melting devices.
Regularities of cold crucible melting are based on the theory of electromagnetic cylindrical waves. The system of infinitely long coil and inductor and so-called short system are dis-cussed.
Special construction of crucible is essential for a successful melting. Segment-crucible variant and version with integrated inductor are discussed. The thesis also analyzed the specific conditions for melting the nonconductive materials from the starting phase, the charakteristic melting at steady state after the solidification of the melt.
Basic problems of melting conductive materials and suitable alternating current generators are processed more or less informative in the thesis.
The conclusion deals with evaluation of device in terms of energetic, economic and ekology aspects and advantages for practical applications.
Induction melting, crucible furnace, channel furnace, depth of penetration, segmented crucible, crucible with integrated inductor, melting of conductive and nonconductive materi-als, starting phase, alternating current generators, 3E evaluation.
