The aim of my thesis is to familiarize readers with the issue of stalking; with a focus on the psychological side of the issue.
In the first chapter of the theoretical part of my bachelor work I go with the characteristics of stalking and I present a brief historical excursion into this issue. The second chapter describes the typical forms of behavior of stalkers, which I complement with the statistical frequency: where as the most common type of behavior we find is contacting the victim via telephone. The next chapter brings readers near cyberstalking; stating its forms and differences from the traditional stalking. Categorization of stalking can be found in the fourth chapter, where the reader learns different views on the division of stalking. In the fifth chapter entitled The Perpetrators of Stalking, I go through stalkers? psyche, their typical characteristics and factors of personality, especially with regard to assessment of their dangerousness. Victim personality is analyzed in the sixth chapter, which focuses on the specifics of the victims of stalking and the impact of stalking on the victim's psyche. The last, seventh chapter, gives advice on how to defend oneself against staking: both preventive recommendations and actions against the ongoing stalking; legal options and a look at the work of the civic association White Circle of Safety, and its offer to help victims. At the end of this chapter I describe a therapy of stalkers, as it is carried out by W. Tschan from the University of Zurich.
The practical part of my thesis approaches the issue of stalking on two specific cases that actually happened and are described based on interviews with the victims.
