Ruská většina významně ovlivňuje formování krymského politického a kulturního života, což vede k rusifikaci institucí a separatistickým tendencím obyvatelstva.

In international realities small ethnic conflicts often appeare to be a major cause of larger political conflicts. Crimea is an example of such a conflict, which embraces not only ethnic, but even political and economic elements.
The first half of the work describes the political-geographical characteristics of the Crimean peninsula. The Crimean peninsula was at the time of the Russian Empire, the strategically important territory, where clashed the interests of coastal states of the Black Sea. At the time Russia and Turkey, respectively Ottoman Empire, sought for his mastery mainly due to its convenient location as a port. Even today the importance of the peninsula haven?t narrowed. But now the Republic of Ukraine newly formed in the early 90 years and Russia, which arose from the ashes of the former USSR, are interested in it.
The content of the second part includes a current problematics of the region. One of the fundamental problems in Russian-Ukrainian relations is the constant presence of Russian Black Sea Fleet in the Crimean Peninsula port. Fleet (according to Ukrainian side) threatens the security of Ukraine and undermines its sovereignty. The demographic situation in the region is the second problem. Russian majority greatly affects the formation of cultural and political life in the Crimea, which leads to the Russification of institutions and separatist tendencies of the population, the Ukrainian government is trying to prevent. The third side in the Crimean question is NATO, which have engaged in military exercises on the peninsula.
In conclusion, I focus on the region's development prospects and future political and economic outlooks in the Crimea.
