The bachelor thesis inquires into comparison of modern methods of IMRT and 3D-CRT used for radiotherapy planning for prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is the most common tumorous condition of Czech male population and it is also the third most frequented cause of death for Czech men. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is theoretical and it is focused on anatomy, pathology, classification and the actual role of radiotherapy during the medical treatment of prostate cancer. The second part is devoted to the qualitative research. The research compares modern methods used for radiotherapy planning prostate cancer. During the research, we found out that IMRT is a technique that is more conformal than the 3D-CRT technique. Since it has been confirmed that the IMRT technique allows us to save more of the rectum and more of the bladder. It was also confirmed that the IMRT technique allows more saving of the femoral head.
