Práce obsahju stručný přehled tří LGBT hnutí a zabývá se vlivem LGBT hnutí na události ve Spojených státech, které vedly většímu zrovnoprávnění LGBT komunity. Na několika příkladech diskriminačních opatření potom analyzuje jaký mají tato hnutí vliv a zda jsou k tomu, aby došlo k zrovnoprávnění LGBT komunity nezbytná.

The aim of this thesis is to introduce some of the LGBT movement in the United States, their short history and analyze wheter they have or had a significant influence on the process of gaining more equal rights for the LGBT community in the country. The main focus is on discriminatory measures introduced in the United States and their repeal and to find out if LGBT movement played a significant role in this process or not.
