Annotation in English
The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out how repatriation of child soldiers in Uganda works and what specific programs were created to reintegrate former child soldiers in the country. A rebel group called the Lord's Resistance Army led by Joseph Kony started to operate in Uganda in the second half of the 1980s. Its primary goal was to overthrow Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni and create a government in Uganda, which was to be based on the Ten Commandments. The Lord's Resistance Army is mostly composed of boys and girls under 18 years old who have been abducted. These children are called child soldiers. The Ugandan government adopted the Amnesty Act in 2000. This act provided a pardon to all those who fought on the territory of Uganda and against the Ugandan government. We can talk about disarmament, demobilization and reintegration of child soldiers in Uganda from 2000 to 2012.
