Course objectives:
|
This practical course focuses on rhetorical styles (genres) and on developing of communication skills. Students will analyse authentic material from the point of view of various rhetorical styles and later they will concentrate on their own speech. Students should improve their ability of expressing their ideas and making and presenting their own speeches intended for a lay or professional audience. Everyday situations will be trained (open competition, interview while applying for a job). Psychological aspects will be mentioned.

Content
|
Problems of the rhetorical style (genres of rhetoric), development of general communication skills, improvement of the accuracy in speech and presentation of students' speech (communicatively, formally and grammatically correct) to a public or scientific audience.
