Diplomová práce se zabývá Gogolovou satirickou komedií Revizor. Na začátku práce jsem uvedla informace o autorově životě, děj Revizora a jeho premiéru v Rusku. Srovnala jsem čtyři dostupné překlady, které se lišily pouze po stránce jazykové. Posléze jsem překlady komparovala se čtyřmi realizacemi v českém prostředí dle stanovených kritérií z hlediska děje, prostředí, postav, jazyka a kompozice. V úvodu každé komparace jsem se snažila danou inscenaci porovnat s dobovým kontextem, napsala informace o tvůrcích a představitelích postav, v závěru jsem zhodnotila herecké výkony a zaznamenala ohlasy z dobového tisku. Fričův filmový přepis (1933), Kačerova divadelní inscenace v Činoherním klubu (1971) a Polesného televizní adaptace (2004) korespondují s překladem, Léblovo divadelní představení na prknech Divadla Na zábradlí se výrazně odlišuje. Gogolova společenská kritika je i po více než 170 letech stále aktuální.

This dissertation is about Gogol?s satirical comedy The Goverment Inspector from 1836. At the first I wrote informations about life of the writer and also about Inspector?s premiere in Russia. I read some of the translations then and I saw czech film and theatre productions as well (Mac Fric, Jan Kacer, Petr Lebl, Viktor Polesny). It was necessary to compere the books versions with film and theatre productions according to predetermined criterias: in terms of temporal context, in terms of the story, in terms of characters, in terms of story environments, in terms of language, in terms of composition, in terms of performances. Processing of Fric, Kacer and Polesny corresponds with the original translation. Processing of Lebl is different. Social critic of the Gogol?s drama is at this time still relevant and also it is still valid the motto of the Goverment Inspector.
