Souhrn : Bakalářská práce se zabývá nechtěným těhotenstvím a snaží se obsáhnout všechny aspekty tohoto kontroverzního tématu. Je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část se zabývá možnostmi řešení nechtěného těhotenství, antikoncepcí jakožto prevencí vzniku nechtěného těhotenství, možnými následky spojených s interrupcí, rozdílným názorem společnosti na ukončení těhotenství a rolí porodní asistentky v této problematice. Praktická část zahrnuje rozhovory s ženami, které podstoupily interrupci. Snaží se zachytit jejich důvody pro ukončení těhotenství, pocity s ním spojené a zpětný pohled na jejich rozhodnutí.

Summary: This thesis deals with issue of unintended pregnancies and it attempts to cover all aspects of this controversial subject. It is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part concerns possible solutions to unintended pregnancies, contraception, potential consequences of abortion, different societal attitudes towards abortions, and the role of the midwife in this regard. The practical part includes interviews with women who have undergone an abortion. It attempts to capture their reasons for aborting their pregnancies and feelings associated with this, as well as their retrospective thoughts about their decisions.
