Ve své práci se zabývám klíčovými tématy vzájemných vztahů Organizace Severoatlantické smlouvy a Ruské federace. Tato práce však taktéž pojednává o historických aspektech spolupráce těchto dvou aktérů, které mají významný vliv na současné vztahy Ruska a NATO. Jako klíčová témata vzájemných vztahů jsou definovány boj proti terorismu, rozšiřování NATO, problematika jaderných zbraní a otázka systému protiraketové obrany. V rámci analýzy jednotlivých klíčových témat se práce věnuje jak významným úspěchům, kterých bylo dosaženo spoluprací Rusko-NATO, tak neshodám, které převažují ve vzájemných vztazích. Práce poukazuje na nedostatek důvěry ve vztazích Rusko a NATO a na rozdílné přístupy obou aktérů ke konkrétním otázkám.

This work deals with the key topics of the mutual relations of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the Russian Federation. The work, however, also deals with the historical aspects of the cooperation, which have a significant influence on the modern relations of these two partners today. The key topics of the mutual relations of Russia and NATO selected are the fight against terrorism, the issue of nuclear weapons, the expansion of NATO and last but not least the question of the anti-missile defence system. In the analysis of the individual topics, the work deals with both the results achieved and the disagreements dominating between the two actors. This work points out the problem of both actors, which lies in the inability to find consensus in resolving specific questions. Russia and NATO often have a different point of view and lack mutual trust in their relations.
