Diplomová práce je zaměřena na problematiku zásob, konkrétně na metody stanovení pojistné zásoby.
V úvodu práce je vymezen pojem, význam, funkce a členění zásob. Dále se práce zabývá možnými metodami řízení zásob a hladinami zásob.
Praktická část se věnuje výpočtu pojistné zásoby ve společnosti ELKO, velkoobchod nápojů, s. r. o. Společnost je nejprve představena a následně je popsána hospodářské situace a postavení společnosti v dodavatelském řetězci. Dále se praktická část zabývá řízením zásob ve společnosti. Následuje nastínění obecných předpokladů výpočtu pojistné zásoby a problematika tzv. bullwhip efektu. Dále jsou popsány vybrané metody výpočtu pojistné zásoby, které jsou zároveň aplikovány na vybrané zboží společnosti.
V závěru práce je provedena syntéza získaných poznatků, výpočtů a návrhu pro společnost.

This M aster thesis is focused on problems inventory, namely the methods of determining safety stocks.
The introduction defines the term, meaning, functions and classification of stocks. The thesis deals with possible methods of inventory management and determination the stock levels.
The practical part is dedicated to the calculation of safety stock in the company ELKO, velkoobchod nápojů, s. r. o. The company is first introduced and then there is described the economic situation and the company's position in the supply chain. Futhermore, the practical part deals with inventory management in the company. Following is an outline of general assumptions for calculating safety stock and problems of bullwhip efect. The main part is concentrated on selected methods of determinating safety stock, which are also applied on selected company?s goods.
In conclusion of this thesis, there is carried out synthesis of practical konwledge, calculations and suggestions for the company.
