Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá fenoménem Swinging Sixties: populární kulturou Velké Británie v 60. letech 20. století. Práce se zaměřuje jak na proměnu britské společnosti v 60. letech tak na ukázání kulturních fenoménů typických pro období 60. let. Otázka, kterou se pokusím zodpovědět je: Byla 60. léta skutečně obdobím všeobecného blahobytu a celkové spokojenosti? Práce je rozdělena do pěti kapitol, ve kterých je tato problematika rozebírána.

The theme of my bachelor thesis is "Phenomenom of Swinging Sixties: Popular culture in Great Britain in 1960s. In general, the 1960s are knows as a decade of economic and cultural prosperity and also as one of the best periods in histo-ry of Great Britain. I used compiling method for this bachelor thesis. Books From Bomb to the Bealtes (1999) by Juliet Gardnier and White Heat (2006) and Never Had It So Good (2005) by Dominic Sandbrook are main sources for this thesis.
This work consists of five chapters. Firstly there is a brief introduction to 1960s. First chapter describes political situation in 1960s Britain. Second chapter is focused on british society and its changes. Third chapter is about most infuential aspects of popular culture in 1960s, such as popular music, television and fashion. Boom of popular culture in this decade was caused by many factors that come to-gether at the right time (affluence, young generation, new modern technologies and more). Economic prosperity and many positive cultural changes in 1960s ma-kes this decade one of the best periods of British history to live in.
